community enabling
The Trust’s community enabling
service in Barnsley offers personal care and support to 24
people living in their own homes.
The outreach support service offers around
650 hours of support each week - from personal care to help
with shopping or social skills training - using a staff team
of 35.
The demand for this service has risen sharply
and we are now looking to use our experience of running the
Barnsley service to set up similar projects elsewhere.
The Disabilities Trust is already on the approved
providers list in Manchester and Newcastle and are talking
to Lancaster Social Services about developing services in
that area too.
